This review is for the Diagnostic Center at Novato Community Hospital. Carol at the front desk, who checks in anyone who is getting testing at this hospital (non-emergency) was super helpful when I showed up with a "stat" lab order from my doctor for an ultrasound. Ultrasounds here are typically scheduled, and I really appreciate that Carol spoke to the ultrasound tech on duty to ask if it was even possible for me to be seen same day. There were no guarantees, but I was offered to wait for 2 hours in case there was an opening, and after 2 hours the ultrasound tech was able to see me. Both Carol and the ultrasound tech were very competent at their jobs and caring. Huge "thank you" to both!
I was at this facility for a colonoscopy. Everyone was top shelf. Thank you and a shout out to Dr. Prushani and my anesthesiologist Lawrence and most of all Kelly (Michigan)and Annette!! Everything went by the numbers and right on schedule.
If you are in pain, need medical help, or if there is any reason for people to judge your appearance, I would truly hope for you that you do not go here, and I do not say that because I have had a bad experience and I have spite for this place, I say it because I have twice been treated prejudicially and unprofessionally here, and, I don’t know where that leaves me, but, no matter who you are I don’t wish it on you. I don’t know who reads Google reviews before going to a hospital. I needed medication to bridge a refill, I went here, they treated me disrespectfully, I left. Tonight, I have severe fluid build up from a back injury, I am losing sensation in my feet, fingers, my pain is spreading, I needed a diuretic to clear the fluid gain so that I could start a water fast, have a natural chance at the inflammation being fed on. Now it’s 1 am, I wasted some hours there, I was treated so rudely during intake, I felt as if I had to negotiate to get past triage, why, I don’t know, I wanted to research my issue before going into a hospital. The doctor offered me painkillers, seemed offended, at my existence, I have tattoos, but I have decorum, I have manners, I treat everyone with the assumption that there is a level of decency we all share. I’m laying on my bed, in pain, I wish I had gone to Petaluma hospital or Marin General. Because my organs weren’t failing, they don’t care to give me a diuretic, to make a DIY diuretic carries significant health risks…. It’s becoming harder to walk, I’ve been having cold sweats from pain, and, I was offered painkillers I refused, but, I couldn’t be obliged a diuretic, it’s hard to be mobile in this moment even though I am 34, and have work, two dogs, life. Listen: I do not know you, and I will not know you, but as you read these words please be sure, that no matter who you are, or what you have done, there are moments when you deserve decency and care, the world ought not always be so without hope. Hope has become such a fragile thing among institutions which have made it policy to avoid fulfilling their moral mandates which are the forgotten treaties which they deny people, but, cite in defense of why their systems are ethical. There is nothing ethical about treating people in moments of weakness - with disrespect. There is nothing ethical about judging someone, other people, and not realizing that design loves them, that everyone, when they are weak, is worthy of decency. I am in so much pain… and, I would carry it, further, to spare a stranger who has a kinder soul, and a heavier burden, because decency shared, it’s everything. I - Hope for anyone who falls upon these words, that, you can - Realize that, I am not wishing to impose upon you prejudice, I would not rob you of proper care, in fact I would inform you that this institution is so corrupt they reply to their reviews asking people to call in, and clarify, but anyone who does will find the department doesn’t exist, and calls are never returned. What does strength mean, if we are not strong, not to carry our own burdens, but, to become strong enough to carry the weight of things that others who can not carry their burdens, ought to be - helped. The promise of hospitals, churches, courts, commons, there are places such as this that tarnish the good name of systems that were promised to people. I hope for you, that you can find care, if it finds you in this place, I hope it finds you well, and, if you have the luxury of choice, I hope that you exercise your discretion, when you seek out care, I hope that you do not have for it, I hope that it finds you as you are. Best infusion place we’ve been to. Clean and modern. Own room. Very friendly and mostly competent nurses. Just had infusion number 26. All good.
Super heroes. I was pampered start to finish. Even though I was fully vaccinated, I got a serious case of covid delta that required 5 days of hospitalization. I was taken care of so well by teams of COURTEOUS top notch doctors and nurses, I felt like an honored guest. Even food was yummy in new private room with big windows and a great view. If you have to be hospitalized, go here. I don't see how anyone could ever rate this hospital less than 5 full stars.
