I had a wonderful and amazing experience here. Friday June 12 I was worried and I went in to get checked. Was told I’d be going home with a baby and that they’d be inducing me. I was so so scared, nervous, excited, worried, anxious.. all of the emotions! Shaking nonstop and feeling the weight of all the emotions crashing down on me. I had tons of support around me but what really stuck out to me was the way I was treated by the nurses and doctors. They were ALL so so so supportive and caring and reassuring during my entire time here and they all made sure my delivery was safe and that my baby was healthy. Their professionalism, understanding, compassion, kindness, and love that they provided for not only myself but my family and my boyfriend was off the charts. Everyone did an amazing job and I can’t express my gratitude enough. Thank you sutter roseville for making my first pregnancy less stressful and more relaxing.💖🙏

I just wanted to share a positive experience I had here when giving birth. I was scheduled to be induced and it was delayed but they got back to me as soon as possible which was greatly appreciated. My labor was long, therefore I had several nurses that helped me and every single one of them was beyond caring & helpful as I was going through my first experience. Specifically Jenny & Christy- they were both amazing and made my difficult time better. Dr. Leong was also so wonderful and I appreciated everything she did for me!! Post delivery, I had a lot of great nurses as well who helped me recover, there was one nurse who made me feel bad about the fact that I was struggling with something but it doesn’t really highlight my 5 day stay-just a slight hiccup. I will say the recovery rooms are extremely small & the food isn’t as bad as you would expect. Once we were discharged we did have to walk what felt like forever to the lobby and parking lot, I had a c section so this was honestly very difficult for me so I was surprised a wheel chair wasn’t atleast offered but once we were told we could go we never really seen another nurse to ask or even thought about it at that moment. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with the Nurses & Doctors! Don’t let some of the other reviews worry you lol it did me, I know everyone has a different experience but mine was really good for what it was!

I had an excellent experience at the Sutter Roseville Birth Center and would confidently recommend it to my family and friends. From labor through postpartum care, every member of the team demonstrated exceptional professionalism, compassion, and skill. My labor and delivery nurse, Holly, provided outstanding support and care. She was attentive, nurturing, and quick to respond when my blood pressure dropped, helping me remain comfortable and reassured throughout the process. Her calm and caring presence made a meaningful difference in my birth experience. Dr. Meera Chong was equally exceptional. She took the time to clearly explain my health conditions and care plan, and her calm, encouraging demeanor during delivery helped me stay focused and confident. Dr. Chong respected our wishes for delayed cord clamping despite my severe anemia and communicated clearly about balancing my safety with our preferences. Her professionalism and compassion were greatly appreciated. During my postpartum stay, Nurse Vanessa provided exemplary care. Her positive energy, respect, and thorough patient education made my recovery both comfortable and empowering. I am deeply grateful for the outstanding team at Sutter Roseville. Their expertise, compassion, and dedication created a truly positive and memorable birth experience!

BEWARE OF DR MAHER AND DR CANAVARRO!! I cannot express enough how horrendous my treatment was at this birthing center. I arrived here 19 months ago to give birth to my son. I had a low risk pregnancy and was a healthy mama, my son was healthy as well. After hours of waiting to be admitted, as well as a nurse having to put in 3 IVs because her student messed up the first one, she accidentally ripped out the second, then put one in my hand, Dr Maher came to meet with me. He was adamant I get a c-section, despite there being no reason for me to do so. He told me my baby was going to get stuck inside of me and die. He had horrific bedside manner and gave me zero informed consent. I told him I did not want to have major abdominal surgery unless there was an emergency, I did not have gestational diabetes (therefore was unlikely to have an XL baby who could get stuck), I was low risk, and my sons heart tones were fine. He got a major attitude with me, scared me, and then I was told I had to sign a paper saying I was going against medical advice. He never came in to check on me again, and the next day the shift changed and Dr. Canavarro became my doctor. Things went from bad, to worse. She did not introduce herself to me until many hours later, and that afternoon came in and said “so what’s your end game here?” What did she mean? I asked her. She said “what’s it going to take for you to have a c-section?” I was shocked! What?? I told her exactly what I had told Dr Maher. Both doctors bullied me and kept telling me my baby was going to die. I was so confused and scared. I continued to advocate for myself as the nurse silently watched this abuse take place and Dr Canavarro left after saying “I’ll do what you want, but if your baby dies, I’ll just move onto my next patient.” After she left I cried in my hospital room, a first time mom, so scared and I felt so alone. The nurse came back in and asked why I was crying…had she not just witnessed what took place? The doctor never came back in until I was about to push my son out. I felt totally ignored, unsupported, blown off, and honestly like me & my baby did not matter. Despite the vile efforts of these “professionals”, I trusted myself and my baby, and hours later gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy with NO issues. I hope my doctor learned something that day. I barely even tore. It was a victorious moment for me, but this experience has caused birth trauma and distrust of the medical community. I would never tell someone I love to come to this hospital and give birth here. I would give zero stars if I could.

Avoid Dr. Maher at all costs. We went to this birthing center when my wife hit two weeks past due. We wanted to induce and we were hoping that we would get a different doctor than Maher as we had been told by friends that he was horrible to work with. Unfortunately, he was the doctor that evening. After getting all the normal tests and scans done we found that the baby was as healthy as can be. It was very important to my wife and I to try to have a natural birth as my wife has endometriosis as was worried about the scar tissue after pregnancy. Dr. Maher eventually showed up and said he refused to induce my wife as he thought it would be a big baby. He didn’t explain much after that, but he did arrogantly tell us that the hospital had “done all the things they legally had to” but that we “couldn’t make them do anything else.” He said he would only do a c-section or we could leave. It wasn’t simply his decision to deny the care we were looking for that made him terrible, I would have been fine with him explaining his stance in a professional manner with empathy for my wife and her wishes. It was his flagrant arrogance, apathy, and condescending tone that made it awful. We immediately left and went to sutter Davis where my wife gave birth naturally to a healthy baby girl. Dr. Maher appears to be a doctor who couldn’t care less about his patients desires or comfort, which is a terrible quality to have when you work exclusively with pregnant women. It seemed like he just wanted to do a c-section because it’s the quickest and easiest option for him. And after what I’ve heard from two parents who had to have him for their delivery, he has no problem manipulating and fear mongering his patients to get them to do a c-section. (They also ignored him and had a flawless natural birth) Dr. Maher is a shining example of the lazy, arrogant, out of touch, money hungry system that is healthcare. So if you’re thinking of giving birth here, just drive to sutter Davis instead. They are wonderful. Last note: the fact that a seemingly veteran doctor is so god awful with his bedside manner is a shame. You’d think in all your years as a professional you’d learn basic human communication skills. Kids can learn it, so can you.
